About

Iain Cathro

Photographer

I graduated from the Photography Institute in 2017 having studied part time for 2 years. Previously I had worked as a quantity surveyor throughout the UK. For me life is about people. We were not made to be alone; we were made for relationships. I believe strong families make a strong society. I love meeting new people, and am interested in their stories. We are all different, with different values and beliefs. I’m interested in hearing about different views and values. I worked as a as a volunteer at a mental health charity, and have a strong desire to encourage the broken, the downtrodden, the broken hearted and the rejected. Everyone has a story. I have been married for 35 years and have one daughter, and a son. I love their hearts for the vulnerable. I love being out in the open air, enjoying our beautiful Nation and enjoy taking photographs in the Landscape. I also enjoy Nature Photography, I took a number of Landscape workshops led by Paul Gallagher of Aspect 2i who is a great photographer, teacher and person. I thoroughly recommend Paul. My dad served in the RAF during the War, and my brother and one of my cousins also served in the RAF. That probably explains my love of everything RAF, especially from the WW2 era. I achieved my LRPS in 2017 and am seeking to put a portfolio together to try to achieve ARPS. I’m active in Camera Clubs, and really enjoy the social side; less so comments from some of the judges. I hope you enjoy the images and the site.
