The Problem with Landscape

All about Light

Was in Glasgow last week and decided to book a Hotel out of town, to take some Landscape photos. There is still enough light to do that, but the opportunities are going to rapidly diminish. Was reasonably happy with the results.

At the weekend I was down in the Lake District. The whole week end cost me about £ 700 and the weather was promising. However, it just turned really misty, then there was this awful haze. As well as that it was super busy down there. Really, with the harsh light and haze, I was not at all happy with the photographs.

The problem with Landscape Photography is that you have absolutely no control over the weather. Zero. Not for the first time, the apps etc are all predicting perfect conditions, but the reality is the exact opposite. If, like me, you have to travel a considerable distance just to get to the location, it can be very dispiriting, as the opportunities to participate in these trips don’t come that often when you work full time. But reasonably happy with these two taken locally.
